It is wonderful to see the amazing detail work that some companies had done for them by a lithographic printer in producing a specialized billhead or letterhead. Most of these are black-and-white engravings, usually done on a metal plate block. As is apparent on illustrated billheads/letterheads, the images on these ephemera gave people who were customers or would-be customers a very detailed image of their factory, their products, or both.
