These come in many sizes, shapes and manufacturing material – everything from ceramic, celluloid-over-metal, to porcelain-on-metal made up most of the 19th and early 20th century advertising mugs. Most of the images were of the company`s logo or mascot, or their factory; and in some cases could have had a popular fictional character used – such as the Yellow Kid, Buster Brown or Little Orphan Annie.
